To pull the board up It must be released by pressing on the plastic catch. 

The board comes free.  The switches can be desoldered to recuperate.  The encoder LED and the detector must be removed with their PC board piece to save some future work.

 The connector must be removed before salvaging the encoder LED and the detector

 The PC board is cut with a CNC machine using a burr 50 mil carbide bit.
